One question comes up more than any other when I speak to new private school leadership teams.
“How should we begin our Alumni offer?”
Usually, beneath it sits another question: “Is this something we need to think about yet?”
My answer is yes.
Not because everything must be ready immediately, but because the school and its Alumni Association are parts of the same promise.
Schools often think of Alumni as an outcome, the people produced by an education already completed. At Alluminate, we see becoming an Alumnus as the beginning of another stage in a lifelong relationship.
That distinction changes what you build.
As AI changes the world students are preparing to enter, I believe schools must think more deeply about how their educational value continues beyond departure. Parents who have lived through financial uncertainty, a pandemic and now rapid technological change have a good reason to ask “What happens next?”
Our principle of Educational Longevity™ gives that question a practical direction, an education whose value continues to compound across a lifetime.
Before we design an Alumni Association, I ask five questions. If you work in an established school, they are useful too as they reveal which decisions your Alumni Association inherited, and which you can still make deliberately.
To begin that thinking together, book a one-hour consultation call with me to clarify your Alumni Association’s purpose, identify the decisions to make now and map what can wait.
